PURPOSE OF THE STUDY
The purpose of this study is to those (the public) who are currently engaged in building a more resilient local food system to collaboratively map the local food initiatives within Durham Region. This includes:
Add your local food data to the map, including but not limited to: the location of farmers markets, community gardens, farm gates, community shared agriculture and respective delivery zone; the time/location of local food and/or gardening workshops, resources, and events. Annotate these locations with pictures, text, or descriptions, including but not limited to hours, produce available, project organizers, photos, and web links.
The data entry time will have an 8-week duration. After this point, the data cannot be edited or modified without contacting the researchers. The map resource created will be then accessible to all project participants to facilitate further local food decision-making.

POTENTIAL RISKS AND DISCOMFORTS: Given the nature of this study, there are minimal risks associated with this research. Please be advised that any information you share on the online mapping environment will become public information that is accessible by anyone. If you are uncomfortable sharing your information in a public and web-based environment, we suggest you do not login and close your browser. If you do choose to continue and add information to the map, you can edit and/or delete the information at any time. We, the researchers, have nothing to gain, commercially, from mapping these data. The data will remain the Geoweb environment, and we will not sell the data once collected.

POTENTIAL BENEFITS TO PARTICIPANTS AND/OR TO SOCIETY: Your participation in this research will help create the first and only comprehensive resource for local food information in the Durham Region. It can be used to inform further decision-making, and help secure a more resilient food supply within the Region. I cannot guarantee, however, that you will receive any benefits from participating in this study.

PAYMENT FOR PARTICIPATION: You will not be paid to participate in this study.

CONFIDENTIALITY: The information you share will be public. Please do not share information you wish to keep confidential, which can include (but is not limited to) personal phone numbers or addresses.

VOLUNTARY PARTICIPATION AND WITHDRAWAL: Participation in this study is voluntary. You can choose whether to be in this study or not. If you do not wish to participate, please close your browser now. If you volunteer to be in this study, you may withdraw at any time without consequences of any kind. If you choose to withdraw from this study, you may also choose to withdraw your data from the study. Your choice of whether or not to participate will not influence your future relations with Ryerson
